Each year ICON celebrates India’s Independence Day as India Day — an open-to-everyone event with town officials, small businesses, colorful displays, dance, music, and food.

Patriotism, culture, and civic pride
India Day brings together flag hoisting, cultural performances, and remarks from community and town leaders. It is a moment to honor heritage while affirming our place in Needham’s civic life.
Families dress in festive colors, children perform, and local small businesses often participate — making the event a showcase of Indian culture for the wider community.
Everyone is welcome
You do not need Indian heritage to attend. Town officials, school representatives, and neighbors regularly join ICON for India Day, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the celebration.
