July 2024 | Vol 4.07 Note from incoming president Raja Shaikh Dear ICON family, My motto this year is “Being Exclusively Inclusive,” and I am honored to pick up the baton as the incoming president. I want to express my deepest gratitude for all your
1/9 unwavering support and the incredible strength, especially to our sponsors, over the years which are the pillars that hold our community together. I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our outgoing President, Ms.Shalini Jha and the past year's board for a wonderful year and their many years of dedicated service to the board. Special thanks to our outgoing cultural co-chair, Ms.Bala Venkat, for the innumerable positive contributions she made to the board and the community as the cultural co-chair. We are certainly going to miss her and wish her the best to come. I am thrilled to welcome the new board members, Ms Gauri Phatak, Ms Nidhi Mordia and Mr Darshan Talati. Our current board shares my excitement to serve alongside them. Together, we are eager to continue our mission of fostering unity, inclusivity, and support within the Needham community and beyond. In the coming year, we plan to strengthen our board and introduce new events that will bring us closer together. These initiatives are designed to create more opportunities for us to connect, share, and support each other in meaningful ways. ICON, to me, represents the unity of our community in coming together to help those in need. Last year, we took a significant step by launching our Youth Wing. I encourage parents to engage their children with this new initiative, fostering a spirit of volunteerism and community service from a young age.
