Shalini Jha

Shalini Jha is a past president of the Indian Community of Needham (ICON) and the inspiration and driving thought behind many of the clubs ICON members enjoy today.

During her tenure, Shalini championed women empowerment within the community, founding Purple Wings – ICON's women's club created to give women in Needham a dedicated space to connect, support one another, and grow together. Purple Wings has since become one of the community's most active groups, running events and initiatives centered on women empowerment.

Beyond Purple Wings, Shalini was the spark behind most of ICON's other clubs, including the Book Club, Cooking Club, Garden Club, and Yoga Club, laying the groundwork for the volunteer-led structure that still powers the organization. Her leadership continues to shape how ICON welcomes and engages new members, especially women, across Needham.
